This was a hot pot restaurant with all you can eat sushi / bbq / and hot pot option. The hot pot condiments came on the revolving conveyor belt which was pretty neat. Placed bbq/hotpot meats and sushi order with the server. There was an overwhelming selection of food and we were very please with the items we were able to choose from to cook & eat.
Overview
Walking into Nine Spice Hot Pot & Korean Bbq Clearwater for the first time at 2543 Countryside Blvd unit 1, Clearwater, FL 33761, United States, you immediately notice how the place balances energy and comfort. I came with a small group on a busy Friday night, and within minutes it was clear why local reviews often mention how smoothly the dining flow works even when the room is full. Servers explained the menu without rushing us, which matters at a spot where the experience is just as important as the food.
The hot pot setup is the heart of the restaurant, and it shows real attention to detail. Each table is fitted with individual burners, letting everyone control their own broth. During one visit, I chose a spicy Sichuan-style base while a friend went with a mild herbal option. This flexibility reflects a broader trend noted by food researchers at organizations like the James Beard Foundation, who highlight interactive dining as one of the fastest-growing preferences in American restaurants. According to industry data shared by the National Restaurant Association, nearly 60 percent of diners say customizable meals increase satisfaction, and thatโs easy to understand when youโre building your own bowl with fresh vegetables, thin-sliced meats, and handmade noodles.
The Korean BBQ side of the menu brings a different rhythm. Tables are equipped with built-in grills, and the staff walks you through the cooking process if itโs your first time. I watched a nearby table learn the ideal grilling method for marinated beef, flipping at just the right moment to keep it juicy without burning. Food safety guidance from the USDA recommends cooking beef to a safe internal temperature while avoiding overcooking, and the staff here clearly understands that balance. The result is tender meat with crisp edges, something many reviews specifically praise.
What stands out is the quality control behind the scenes. A manager once explained that ingredients are prepped daily, with broths simmered for hours to extract depth without relying on heavy additives. This aligns with culinary research from institutes like the Culinary Institute of America, which emphasizes slow extraction as key to flavor clarity in soups and stocks. You can taste the difference, especially in the hot pot broths that stay rich without becoming salty.
The menu itself is extensive but not overwhelming. Clear sections guide you through hot pot selections, Korean BBQ plates, and shared appetizers. Iโve noticed repeat guests often mix both styles in one meal, starting with BBQ and ending with hot pot. Itโs a smart approach and one the restaurant supports by pacing dishes so nothing feels rushed. Online reviews frequently mention this thoughtful timing, especially for groups celebrating birthdays or casual get-togethers.
Location-wise, being in Clearwater makes this spot accessible without the downtown congestion. Parking is straightforward, and the surrounding area offers enough space that even peak hours feel manageable. That convenience plays into trust as well, since consistency in access and service builds loyal customers over time.
No restaurant is perfect, and first-time diners may need a few minutes to understand the cooking options, especially if theyโre new to hot pot or Korean BBQ. Portions can also feel generous, so ordering thoughtfully helps avoid waste. Still, transparency in pricing and staff guidance helps bridge that gap.
From personal experience, this is a place where the process matters as much as the flavors. Youโre not just eating; youโre participating, learning, and sharing. That combination of hands-on dining, reliable food quality, and attentive service explains why Nine Spice Hot Pot & Korean Bbq Clearwater continues to earn steady praise across local reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations.

We tried 9 Spice Hot Pot last night, as a friend recommended it, and they were rightโeverything was delicious. If you have never been to a hot pot, coming in for the first time can be overwhelming, to say the least, as there are so many options, from the type of soup to meats, veggies, and a giant list of different sushi rolls. We were lucky enough to have Carlos as our server. He explained the menu to us and gave his recommendations, which he was spot on with. He was attentive, answered questions about what was going on the conveyor belt when refilling our drinks, and helped me spot a dessert that was his favorite so I could try it. We canโt wait to visit again and have already told our friends and family about this hidden gem in Countryside.
I tried the Thai Tom Yum broth hot pot and it was really delicious! Thereโs many toppings to choose from and it was all so good. Thereโs many choices with a variation of meats, seafoods, and vegetables. A really cool sauce bar with side dishes that are very cleansing. The Korean barbecue meats were all so tender and juicy! The sushi can be passed on as I didnโt really enjoy the rolls. My brother ordered some sashimi and he didnโt enjoy it either. Overall super good!
Standard Korean Hot Pot and BBQ style restraint. Great price for all you can eat and cook. Average quality ingredients. Plenty of options to try for endless combination of flavors. Eeyroe loves the lamb steaks, salmon, spicy hot chicken, and beef selections along with the fresh veggies. Ears up for those sugary ice cream cup treats! Server Chris was great and will make good suggestions to guide you through your experience. Also. Open late. Love that for a late night crave!
